WE ALL GET INSPIRATIONS FROM...

THE NATURAL WORLD

We all respond instinctively to the colours of nature.

Wheather you are strolling along the shore in summer or through woods in autumn, every place and season has it own colours, sound, scents, texture, tastes, that artits, musicians and designers have for centuries tried to capture in their work.

Yellow, the colour of the sun, warms us and lifts our spirits.

Blue, the colour of the sea and the sky, cools and refreshes.

Green, the colour of fields amd fertile landscapes, calm and relaxes us.

Red, the colour of fire and poisonous berries, attracts attention and warns of danger.

Each pefectly exquisite in its own way.

 BUT ALSO THROUGH....

TRAVEL

It is not just the architecture and interiors of other cultures that can inspire.

Unfamiliar sights and sounds on the streets and in the countryside of a newly discovered country can provide ideas for colours, shapes and textures.

The clothes people wear, traditional dress and customs, the presentation of food and merchandise can all translate into aspects of an interior.

AND DON'T FORGET.....

ART AND SCIENCE

Art can teach us a great deal about the use of colour and light and the way to convey a mood or atmosphere.

A client's personal art collection can also provide the inspiration for a colour scheme.

A beautiful painting, a decorative chest brought back from holiday, a favourite vase, an oriental rug, can all provide the starting point for an entire colour palette.
